NYSACAC Statement of Inclusion and Diversity

New York State Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC) is committed to inclusion, access and success across race, ethnicity, gender, identity, culture, religion and experience, and condemns racism, bigotry and biases in all forms. As an association, we seek and celebrate diversity in our leadership, membership, and for the students and counselors we serve across our state.  We seek to promote all means to end racial, social, and economic inequities and injustices through education and civic engagement. We value and nurture every individual and profess to recognize our own biases, and commit to practicing cultural competency in all of our interactions.

Our leadership empathizes with our members’ varied needs by providing a safe space for dialogue and camaraderie, educational resources, and calls to advocacy. NYSACAC strives to be leaders in ensuring that we continue to create equitable pathways for all our members and students.

We commit ourselves to pursuing growth and change grounded in the mission and vision of our national professional organization, the National Association for College Admission Counseling, (NACAC). We are dedicated to our members and the students of New York State in an effort to build an inclusive culture in the secondary and higher education admission counseling industries by championing diversity and moving forward to a more equitable experience for all.
