Anti-Racism and College Admissions: Paving Our Way Forward

In this session, we will discuss and confront the systems of oppression and racism that contribute to inequitable outcomes for students in the college admissions process and beyond.  We will ask ourselves critical questions and examine ways that we can identify, confront, and dismantle those systems to create more inclusivity and equity.
Some of the questions we will examine are:
  • How can we recognize and challenge our own unconscious bias?
  • How does racism show up in our work? How can we confront it?
  • How can racial equality and justice liberate us all?

We will be led by Lawrence Alexander, the Lead Search Consultant for Carney Sandoe & Associates' Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practice. He facilitates training on best practices around implicit bias and equitable decision-making.
