The Position

This role in the governance structure involves leadership at both the state and national levels. The President assumes leadership for the state association and serves as liaison to National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). In addition to the responsibilities listed below, the President is a member of the Affiliate Presidents Council (APC), a body composed of Presidents, Past Presidents and Presidents-Elect for the state and regional associations. The Presidents Council typically meets several times throughout the year for professional development and leadership activities. The term of office for the President is one year. A summary of the duties is listed in the NYSACAC Policies and Procedures Manual.
