The charge of the College Tour committee is to provide a dynamic 3-day college tour of NYSACAC member institutions to high school college counselors from outside the New York area. In addition, the committee aims to provide NYSACAC member institutions with the opportunity to provide an on-campus overview of their undergraduate programs to counselors.


Responsibilities of the Chair/Co-Chairs

  • Identify New York colleges that will host school counselors for 2-3 hours.  Colleges will offer an information sessions, tour and a meal to counselors on the tour.
  • Create marketing and communication plan to advertise and follow up with school counselors regarding this tour.
  • Organize the ground transportation and social events during the annual tour.
  • Work with Technology Committee and the NYSACAC Administrative Assistant regarding online registration.
  • Develop a committee to identify chaperones to accompany counselors during the tour.
  • Provide regular reports to the Vice President of Professional Development regarding the planning of the tour.
  • Survey all counselors after the event regarding their feedback of the tour.
