Job Summary:
Richmond, The American International University in London is an independent, not-for-profit, international, liberal arts and professional studies university established in 1972. Consisting of two campuses, one in central London and another in southwest London, Richmond enrolls approximately 1,100 undergraduate and graduate students. Responsibilities:
Reporting to the vice president and dean of enrollment, the director of U.S. admissions provides leadership in advancing the University’s strategic U.S. recruitment and enrollment goals. The director is based in Boston, Massachusetts, and provides oversight and management of the daily operations for the Boston admissions office. The director supervises two staff members, utilizes data to drive decisions, and leads all office recruitment activities including telemarketing, e-marketing, follow-up, and mailings. The director is responsible for the processing, review, and notification of applications as well as the awarding of scholarships. Budget oversight, publication design, execution of the marketing plan, and utilization of Recruitment PLUS Student Information System are also part of the director’s portfolio of responsibilities.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree is preferred, with demonstrated progressive experience in recruitment and admissions. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated strong leadership and management skills and a commitment to diversity and international education. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, strong attention to details, and the ability to work independently of a traditional admissions office toward targeted goals are essential to success. This is a very hands-on position, so the willingness and ability to direct, support, and participate in all aspects of recruitment, application processing, admissions, and yield activities is critical. The successful candidate must also be willing to travel.
