Responsibilities:
Reporting to the associate vice president for enrollment services, the director of admissions provides leadership in advancing the University of Oregon’s strategic recruitment and enrollment goals. The director provides leadership and effective management of the Office of Admissions and its 43 staff members, oversees an annual budget of approximately $3.6 million, and is responsible for the daily operations of the office, including undergraduate and graduate admissions processing. The director provides data-driven decisions and as a key player in the enrollment services division, the director works collaboratively with the director of financial aid, the university registrar, college deans, and the other stakeholders toward achieving the University’s enrollment goals.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a master’s degree and progressively responsible experience in recruitment and admissions, preferably in a large and complex institutional setting. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated excellent leadership skills and the ability to develop, motivate, and manage staff. Solid understanding of enrollment management issues and trends related to achieving enrollment goals, participation in relevant professional associations, strong technology skills (ideally Banner), and the ability to make data-driven decisions are essential to success. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated success in collaborating within all levels of the institution; and the ability to work effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community are also required. The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to customer service and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
