Job Summary:

Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School is a leading Modern Orthodox high school of about 800 students, located in Brooklyn, New York.  Since 1927, the Yeshivah of Flatbush has stood at the forefront of American Jewish education.

Responsibilities:

The College Guidance Counselor will work with students in grades 9-12, and their families, in the College Guidance process. 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will become a member of the College Guidance team and should possess the following skills/qualifications:
• very strong written and verbal communication skills
• ability to communicate successfully with parents, students and faculty
• outstanding organization skills, abundant energy, and the ability to be flexible and work hard
• a high level of technological fluency and comfort with database systems and the internet
• an eagerness to remain current in national trends in college counseling and a desire to learn and grow as a professional
• enthusiasm for working with adolescents
• well-developed public speaking skills
• experience in college admissions strongly preferred; experience in college counseling also a benefit
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

In addition, the ideal candidate must be sensitive to the needs of Modern Orthodox students and their families as well as to the overall mission of the Yeshivah.
