Job Summary:
Alfred University seeks a dynamic individual to join the Admissions team. A successful candidate will have: a thorough knowledge of collegiate art programs; the ability to critique student art work; previous experience as a counselor, tour guide, ambassador, and/or work study student in a collegiate admission office; the ability to work/travel independently and set priorities to achieve goals/objectives; flexibility to work on weekends, evenings, and overnight stays; excellent written/oral communication skills and confidence speaking in small/large groups and with people from diverse backgrounds; the ability to understand and use technology (e.g., Microsoft Office and email); a desire to work in a data driven environment and participate as a team member in a high energy office; a good-sense of humor.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all phases of the recruitment and enrollment of new art students to the University. Work includes implementing a prospect management initiative, recruitment travel, interviewing prospective students, critiquing prospective student art work, application review, coordinating the faculty portfolio review committee, and coordinating on and off-campus activities and events. The candidate will liaison with the School of Art & Design and Fine Arts faculty within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Additional activities will be assigned to assist with recruitment initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an art field required; master’s degree preferred. Previous experience working in a collegiate admissions office desirable. A valid driver’s license is required.
